Technical Marketing Designer

Company: CHALLENGER

Location: Inglewood, CA

Reports to: Head of Operations

The Role

CHALLENGER is seeking a Technical Marketing Designer who can bridge complex broadband and fiber optic infrastructure with clear, high-impact visual communication. This isn’t a standard graphic design role – you’ll own the technical accuracy, visual clarity/communication and produce sales collateral.

We are looking for a marketing designer who is equally comfortable diving into a fiber optic spec sheet or overseeing the production of a 30-foot tradeshow backdrop. This position is critical to our Sales and Operations teams, turning dense technical information into assets that help customers make confident buying decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Support & Collateral: Design and produce high-accuracy product datasheets, technical spec sheets, installation guides, and other collateral for Layer 1 network infrastructure (i.e. PPT decks, whitepapers, battlecards and more)

Image Catalog & Web Management: Produce and maintain the digital assets for our product catalog, website, and sales materials, partnering closely with Product, Ops and Sales teams.

Sales Support: Create professional slide decks, white papers, battlecards and comparison tools that clearly communicate technical advantages to B2B customers.

Tradeshow & Event Management: Lead the visual design and production for major industry tradeshows, including booth concepts, large-format graphics, and promotional displays.

Process & Asset Management: Collaborate across departments to manage the end-to-end lifecycle of all creative assets – from ideation and design to dissemination and storage.

Product Packaging & Labeling: Design and maintain accurate, on-brand packaging artwork, labels, barcodes, and technical markings for our products.

Brand Stewardship: Maintain a consistent brand voice and professional aesthetic across all print and digital touch points.

Qualifications & Skills

Technical Fluency: Proven ability to read and translate engineering specs, drawings, and network diagrams into clean, accessible visuals including product photography.

Design Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office (PPT, Word, Excel). Experience with CAD, 3D rendering, or technical illustration is a strong plus.

B2B Experience: 3–5+ years in a technical B2B environment (telecom, manufacturing, distribution, or infrastructure) preferred.

Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail for part numbers, measurements, terminology, data, and more.

Project Management: Comfortable managing print vendors, manufacturer partners, and other contractors beholden to deadlines.

Why this role is different

This is a high-impact, hybrid role responsible for an entire technical design ecosystem. Because you sit at the intersection of Product, Sales, and Operations, your organizational skills and attention to detail are essential. You will direct how our solutions are presented to the market and have a deep understanding of the products you’re visualizing.
